Ending the filming

Image
Over the break our group met back up at my house to finish filming the movie. Thankfully the weather was good this time around and we had a good opportunity to finish the movie. I don't know why but having people over at my house to do this felt a little strange, but we had to power through. We started with our opening scenes at the house which was just us welcoming ourselves to our vacation. We started with over the shoulder and high shots to show our interest in being in the house. One aspect of my house that I didn't think about is all my dogs. They are certainly crazy and especially for new people they've never met, like my group. So I realized that to make filming peaceful id have to introduce them to my group. Surprisingly it went well and my dogs accepted them into the house. We then proceeded to film the rest of our movie in time of the weather. It felt really great to get it over with because now what we mainly have to focus on is these blogs, and finalizing the e

First filming day

Today me and my group met up for our first filming day. It first started when we met up after school, at the student parking lot. Damaine and I were waiting for our other group mates Jordyn and Nicole. After we were all in Damaines car we drove to grab a bite to eat, since we were so hungry. We knew that for our first scenes we had to go to Target so we went to eat at this spot near target. After we ate, we had to re-look at our story board to properly recreate or plan. We started off in the Target's parking lot where we had to film the starting scene which as a mid shot of us exiting our car to go inside the target. We completed this by taking two separate shots of two of us exiting each side of the vehicle. Next we realized we had to have a camera man record all of us because we had a conjoined scene. We politely asked many people in the parking lot but many refused. Thankfully one nice person accepted to film us walking into the target. Although it was awkward it came out fine

Near change of plans for production

So, we were on the verge of changing our plans AGAIN today! We weren't in class today since Damaine and I were absent. I was sick in the morning and couldn't go to school. When Damaine sent us the strangest message in our group chat, Nicole and Jordyn were discussing Thursday's schedule. He inquired as to whether or not we were still available for Thursday. Jordyn and I exchanged puzzled looks, not understanding what he meant when he asked, "Are we still on?" At least, that's what we believed. It was only a quick check in, thankfully. It's just that we're suspicious. Our musical artists, unfortunately, have not yet responded. We're starting to get a little irritated. We came to the conclusion that the artists would not respond. We're starting to think that our school's rapper, or some solid royalty-free music, would be the best option! I'm really looking forward to Thursday. I rarely go out after school, and this may be the most excitin

Second step of production: Music

Image
My team and I decided today that we should contact artists to inquire about the rights to their music. We proceeded to email the music after identifying which ones we were utilising. We looked all over the internet for whatever contact information we could discover, but there was none. That's when Damaine decided that now was the moment to request help from our teacher. When he returned with the details, he stated that she advised her to direct message them on Instagram, and that if they did not respond, we would have to utilize royalty-free music. Damaine also informed us that his relative is a musician, so we could contact him if we ever needed anything. We contacted Kesha and Redfoo on the spur of the moment. Nicole and Jordyn were in charge of sending the texts, while Damaine and I assisted them with the wording. We needed to approach them professionally because we are teenagers, and many people do not take teenagers seriously. We explained that we were Cambridge students who

Change of plans stepping into production

My colleagues and I discussed the days we would shoot our final video today. We have to plan our filming days around Nicole, DJ, and Jordyn's work schedules because they all have jobs. We're all highly committed to this project, so if it becomes necessary, we'll all take the day off work and meet up to shoot. They had their work calendars out during class, and Nicole had the standard calendar open so we could view the entire month. On other Saturdays, DJ has a band tournament, while Nicole has a concert to attend, causing a clash in our plans. We are a good team that works well together, thus we will be able to solve this problem. The 13th and 19th of March were chosen as the dates for filming. If any additional days are required for filming, we have all promised to leave school immediately and go filming. Because we're filming at my home. I needed to double-check with his parents and get back to them. We have a backup plan to shoot at Nicole's house if we are unab
