Creative Critical Reflection

Here's my finished CCR PowerPoint!

The premier of the music video

In all honesty this was probably the fun-est I ever had doing a school project. I mean just the concept of doing a music video for school is unheard of outside this school. From the filming process. To the choices of attire to use. And to even embarrassing ourselves outside by filming in public places. It was all a blast overall. But for me the most fun part of this all was editing. Editing just made it all worth it seeing all the scenes go in place with the music in the back it was just one of the best experiences I've had doing something for school.

Finishing filming & editing

To finally finish up our music video we headed back out to shoot the last few shots we needed. We first met up at my house to shoot the last shots. The scene was Alejandro (the "loser") meeting up with me ("cool guy") to finally "acknowledge" him as a cool guy. We had the idea to meet up at a "party" so we headed to my garage for the scene location. We both had red cups to make it seem as we were in a party. After finishing that scene our music video was basically completed. The rest of the time we had that day was used to finalize what we needed to in the editing. Now that we have all our scenes we can fill the holes we left in the editing file. We synced up the music with the scenes added on. I added the transitions required to make sense with the rest of the video. I cut the scenes properly to reach the time limit. But we ran into a problem Our music video wouldn't render a good quality at the end of everything. I tried many times to re-re

Editing the music video

The editing process might've been the most exciting and fun part about this whole project. To start it off the editing software I used to edit was a phone app called capcut. Capcut in general made the editing process so easy and fun, capcut has many tools that make editing more efficient and easy. But back to the editing process. Our main issue while recording was thinking how we were going to link up the music with the scenes we shot. But one scene we 100% knew was going to link up with the music was the opening scene. While linking up the music with the scenes I realized that we might of shot our scenes for too long and that maybe all the scenes wouldn't fit the final video. But still I had to push through and keep editing. For most transitions I used jump cuts or just a fade away transitions. The main time used to edit was to line up the storyline we set up for our two characters. The story was still unfinished when I first started editing. So obviously there was holes and

Filming day continuation

First to really capture the image that we wanted with the music video, we had to put thoughts into our outfits (costumes). So for my character, he is suppose to be the "cool guy-rapper" that can get all the girls and is overall "cool guy". For Alejandros character, he is the typical guy that is not bad looking but doesn't have the proper tools to be with the girls. Our goal in our costumes was to represent these two characters very diligently. So for myself I did some research on a rapper look which is what I was going for, I looked at rappers like Drake, Lil baby, and Future, who are all respected very well in the trap community. The final look was some black skinny jeans, a "designer" belt, Jordans, and a all black tee. Alejandro had to somewhat dress like a anti-social but updated on trends type of person. Alejandro went with some joggers, a branded shirt, and some slides, an overall casual vibe. Next to pick up where we left off we had one last lo

First filming day for music video

On the 5th of December we started producing our music video by filming key scenes. When the day started me and Alejandro already previously arranged this day as our filming day. We first met up at the Galleria mall, there we had a couple of scenes to do with our main characters "glow up". We first started filming by a Macy's where we did a over the shoulder shot of our main character looking up at the store and then proceeding to walk in. After that we walked over to this show store called finish line to shoot yet another shot similar to the first where we had our main character over-looking the stores entrance. Next we went to a clothing store called pacsun to shoot a scene where the main character is looking and trying new clothes. After we shot all that we were done with our scenes in the mall. We did have to wait for Alejandros mom to pick us up to go to our next filming location. While waiting me and Alejandro went over to the food court in the mall to grab somethin
