Filming day

Today, my groupmates and I went out recording our commercial for the first time. As we put it in our storyboard our first scene was outside in the track. As we were walking out onto the track, we noticed that by the way I was dressed I would be the one on the scene. Since we are doing the apple watch as the product, we’re advertising in our commercial we thought that a running scene showing off the apple watches ability to record the users heart rate was a good idea. So that’s what we eventually did. We first started off using a eye level shot where it showed me getting ready to go for a run. After that we got a close up where the camera was focused on the watch as I lined up to run. And eventually followed it up by doing a tracking shot of me running away. Finally to finish up the scene we did a shot where I came running back “done” with the run and looked back at my watch to check my heart rate. 


The second scene we shot was inside. We had already previously known that the apple watch has a feature where it can pick up stress and tell you to take a breath. So in this scene we had my groupmate Alejandro be the actor. We first started off using an overhead shot showing Alejandro taking the test but not knowing what to do. Alejandro failed this scene many times because of his confusion on what he had to do. We ultimately got it right and went for our next take, which was an over the shoulder shot where we wanted to be able to see the notification of the watch telling Alejandro to breathe. After that we went back to a regular overhead shot showing Alejandro take a deep breath and continuing with his test. To finish up the scene we had me bring Alejandro his test back and have him be excited because he passed his test. 


Overall we really enjoyed the filming experience and we are looking forward to filming again on Friday.

  My group and I are also researching comedy. As much as we want action, we also need to laugh. A comedy would also be a lot easier for us since we can just be ourselves. Comedy movies have a lot of close- ups, pans, long shots, and zooms. Close ups allow you to lead your audience into a more intimate setting. You can literally bring your audience closer to the action. And it emphasizes the importance of what we see. But as the push continues, it all breaks, letting viewers know they're watching a comedy movie.Long shots  give an overall context to the scene and usually lets viewers know that what we’re seeing right now isn’t the whole picture... until it zooms all the way out. Static shots, or stand still shots, build suspense. In comedy movies it allows room for the characters to correct themselves or something, Almost like a "wait for it" moment.    Props Being that our commercial is an Apple Watch commercial, our main prop will be the Apple Watch. However we will also have different color Apple Watch bands as well as props aswell Costumes We have came up with these costumes to flow with the message we are trying to portray of the apple watch within that scene. Therefore, two of us will be exempliying the athletics perks of the Apple Watch, by wearing athletic clothing, to show the health and workout benefits of the watch. Another scene will include one of us wearing a really nice outfit, which may include, but is not limited to a nice shirt, jeans and some nice shows. This will help show the customization part of the watch and how stylist it can be and easy access it can. Film review changes

My group and I worked on our film in class. We talked about what modifications we thought needed to be made before we started. My colleagues and I showed our video to strangers last week. They offered us their feedback on how they liked our film and what modifications they thought should be made once they had seen it. We reviewed which adjustments we could and couldn't change as the group went around discussing what changes they were told to make. Many users claimed that the sound was an issue, and that it was difficult to hear specific parts of the actor or actress. Damaine did his best to improve the volume, but it couldn't be adjusted completely without re-filming everything. The editing was also brought to our attention as a concern. We'd have to fix it because some people thought it looked choppy. Damaine corrected what he could as the rest of the crew and I stood behind him, watching what he was doing.
